Alex Kauryzhka – president
A born entrepreneur, Alex earned a diploma in business administration from the Academy of Management in Belarus, Minsk. He quickly began to apply what he had learned during a successful stint as a salesperson with Xerox, but found that the desire to start and grow his own company was too strong. And so, in 1994, he opened his first business selling and installing blinds to homeowners.
Sensing that technology offered room for future growth, he expanded the business to include computers and hardware in 1995. In a matter of just a few years, it was on the path to becoming the largest computer wholesaler in Belarus. The political situation quickly and suddenly changed, however, and Alex emigrated with his family to Canada in 1999 in search of a place where he could watch his business grow and thrive.
After studying web development intensely, Alex launched Medora with his new partner Jean in 2004. The business has been a great success – even earning a spot on Business in Vancouver’s 2010 “100 Fastest-Growing Companies” list. Alex credits this triumph to an unwavering commitment to honesty, innovation, and going the extra mile for every single client.
